History of Shields Industrial Services 2004 Ltd

Shields Industrial Services is family owned and operated business with over 30 years of experience. It was founded by Mr. William Shields, whose commitment towards the work has always been a guiding force for us.

In September 1979 Roy Shields and his wife Beverly formed Shields Industrial. They had experience in farm equipment, aircraft engines, heavy duty trucks, and equipment for all makes.

For the first 2 years Shields was just mechanical and had a labour contract for a local company. This allowed the Shields to save enough money to build a proper building and shop.

Roy then decided to get into supply parts to service the needs of his customers specializing in fleet maintenance.

In June 1982 Roy hired one mechanic employee. Shortly after that customers started coming in. This progressed to a 7 day a week business with 2 full shifts of workers.

In 1990 Roy’s son Bill Shields started working for Shields, as a mechanic.

In August 2004 Roy and Beverly Shields decided to retire. At that time Bill Shields, along with a partner, bought the company from his father. The company was renamed Shields Industrial Services 2004 Ltd.

The company has grown with a full service shop and fully stocked parts department.

In June 2011, Bill bought out his partner and carried on the business as sole owner.

Today Shields employs 10 employees. It has a full service and parts department. Shield’s as of September 1st, 2011 is now an International Associate and a Holland Hitch dealer. Shields shop is open 7 days and week and the parts department is open 6 days a week. We stock new parts, as well as some used parts.

What makes us unique is our commercial vehicle testing facility which is approved by the government. You can therefore be ensured quality. To further enhance our quality, we have made sure to appoint licensed mechanics and also obtained gas certification.
